We’re in Belton and are in Austin very frequently. It’s :45 to Georgetown or Waco and less than an hour to Round Rock. It works well for us. But my limited exposure to San Antonio shows definite...
I couldn't remember the name, but that’s it!
Are people still liking their KRG 10/22 Bravo stocks? I picked up a new Ruger bull barreled 20” 31166 last year with the idea of getting one of these stocks, but never did it. Now that I’m getting...
I decided to order the Williams peeps with the FO fronts - they were under $40 a set. I need to find some barrel dovetail blanks, but that’s easy.
I saw that rail base version, Ruger is selling it as a base to use with their Mini-14 style folder which has a higher comb.
One advantage to the AR style Tech Sights is that they can transition to...
I didn’t notice one, so I just looked at the manual - they show a cable lock through the bolt.
So far I’m happy enough with the red springs and replacement trigger that I think I’m done with the FCG. I did break down and order an oversize magazine release, I was getting annoyed with the stock...
The plot thickens, and brings joy to Lex Luthier’s heart.
All three are Mannlicher stock versions. Two are stainless and birch (for the twins) and one blued and laminate (the Honey Badger’s which...
They each have their own, so I can’t do that. What I can do is let them try with the factory sights but also see what mine are like - I have Tech Sights on one, and a RDS on another. Then they can...
I don’t see a general 10/22 thread, so here goes.
Like most people, I have a couple of 10/22s around the house ranging from a little Charger I’m building up with the intention of Form 1ing it to a...

rayrevolver suggested we post mill jobs for height/depth reference - I think that’s a great idea.
This is a Talo direct milled G45, which has the cut to the bottom of the slide radius:

You might want to mention it to your FFL, the same thing may apply.
As a counter proposal, have you considered a little further north? With the exception of Killeen which is very easy to avoid, Bell County has a lot going for it.
In IL they considered the clock to start when you paid for the item, so for a transfer FFL their 72 hour wait was almost always already satisfied by the time the gun arrived.
Man, I like that.

That definitely is low! My Talo G45 is cut just below the bottom of the curve:

The Buda TX Cabelas has a half dozen green Steyr Scouts in 6.5 for $999. Maybe we’re seeing blowouts ahead of the new model?
I had a chance to handle a 442UC at the Buda, TX Cabelas. It had a little case rash and a trigger lock, but I liked the sights and grips.
I’ve had a MPS for a few years now; it seems ok but I’m not using it in anything approaching a duty environment. I’m curious how it holds up for you.
Reminded me of this article from my yoot:
