I agree with this and liked The Gray Man also. Two of the most fun performances I've watched in a while were Chris Evans in that (the porn stash really added to the overall effect) and Connor McGregor in the Roadhouse remake. Those guys killed it and had a lot of fun in the process.

Finished Fallout - mildly interesting - but one of those shows where you are supposed to hang for seasons for the reveals. Watching Walton though is always a pleasure. Between his cop, criminal, corrupt evangelist and now ghoul - he has quite a range.

You forgot his appearance on "Sons of Anarchy."

Didn't need to see that. Never watched the show. This ranks in with the Greek vase in the Correia thread - nope - didn't need to see that either.

I was on shore duty at the time and was on-call as the duty officer the night that aired. Halfway through, I was called in to review an operational-immediate message that had come into the comm center. So I drove there, read it (it was some bullshit about rescheduled ops that wasn't urgent), initialed it as being reviewed and went home.

At work the next morning, everyone was abuzz about the show. My gizzard was truly frosted.

Watched the first couple of episodes of season two of (the Nazi) Hunters on Prime. So far, I am somewhat underwhelmed.

In the first episode, a Fed in 1979 shoots a Nazi, off-book, and then has to scramble to find the cartridge casing. I groaned, since that Federal agency issued revolvers back then. (The Americans got that detail right.)

I just rewatched Band of Brothers on Max. Chernobyl popped up as a suggested show to watch. I watched it and finished it quickly. Jesus watching the first show and watching the plant techs and the firefighters getting exposed to radiation. It was a show that caught my attention and engrossed me fully. It was something I always wanted to watch but never did.

    Wow!

Based on this recommendation, my wife and I watched “We Were The Lucky Ones” over the past several days.
It’s excellent television. Engrossing (sometimes horrifying) story. Great acting, and well-cast, talented actors that added to their characters’ depth with subtle non-verbals and expressions.
    I second the recommendation.

    5/5

It's an eight episode mini series on Hulu. It's so similar to a book I recently finished, "On Sunny Days We Sang." that I first thought it was a TV adaptation of it. But I don't think it is. It's just similar stories about this horrible time in history.
It starts in 1938 Poland, just before the Nazi invasion. People watched in disbelief as things kept getting worse. The most innocuous and innocent decisions often had life and death consequences.
The last, and I believe final, episode will be available at 11:00 pm tonight. (5/1/2024) As I watch what is happening on college campuses across the country, the show is eerily timely.
It's a good, if disturbing, watch.

B of B is one of my favorites. Chernobyl was a hard watch. Radiation may be the very worst way to go.
