From the recent SGAmmo chrono test I linked above (watched the entire video and took the values for the 16" barrel, I might have quoted the 20" chrono results in my previous post):
PMC 5.56 XM193: 2860 ft/s
PMC 5.56 XM855: 2814 ft/s
PMC .223 55 FMJ: 2691 ft/s
PMC .223 55 JSP: 2716 ft/s
PMC 5.56 77 OTM: 2441 ft/s
Looks like with recent lots the difference between 55 FMJ .223 and 5.56 loading is more like ~160 ft/s.
I have some PMC 62 grain green tip M855 ammo that I plan to check POI with the 62 grain Fusion, if anyone has info on that.
As to the PMC Bronze, it has been clean, reliable, reasonably accurate, available, functions in my guns, and hits close to 62 grain Fusion/Gold Dot, so it has been my go to practice .223 load for years. I am primarily shooting it at Clint Smith UR distances, and rarely beyond 200 yards.
Likes pretty much everything in every caliber.
Just now noticed this thread a month later, but these are the kind of numbers I got a year ago. 16” PSA.
PMC 55 FMJ - 2782
PMC 55 SP - 2813
AE .223 55 FMJ - 2760
Fiocchi 55 FMJ - 2703 - it’s always chronoed low
XTAC M193 - 2926
Magtech M193 - 3047
Win M193 - 3109
From my years old chrono tests... so YMMV
And the 62gr Fusion MSR
