That was a funny comment - and a great collection, wow. I like the old .38 S&W cartridge for some reason.

One forgotten technical advance in concealed carry has been the development of good IWB holsters and belts. I suspect a lot of old timers pocket carried small guns because there weren't really any good, generally available options for comfortably carrying something larger.

I remember (as a grade schooler) the editor of the very small town paper (actually the county newspaper) in the rural county where I spent part of my childhood made his own IWB holster. He was a family friend and I saw it several times, basically something he stitched together with a clip of some sort, but not hard formed. The gun was some small revolver but I don't remember any more than that. I think in those days if you wanted an IWB holster or a simple pocket holster you either made it or went to the local shoe shop and had them make it for you.
He was another one of those Fed Mertz type guys you met who had done real stuff in WW II and been some places.
The state did not have CCW at that time but he and the sheriff were pretty tight, so I don't think it mattered back then in the early 60's.

Not a 32 but I found an old Taurus 85 snubbie in my safe yesterday that I forgot I had. I checked my very thick folder for a receipt of purchase and I found it. I bought it new in 1991 and the manufacture date is 1990. I remember the reason I never carried it. It has a canted barrel. I can actually see it by looking down the barrel. I called Taurus to see if they would look at it. They sent me a shipping label so I'll see what they say. I'm not overly optimistic but so far it hasn't cost me anything. If they can't fix it I'll just cut it up and bury it. I only paid a few hundred bucks for it new. Made in Brazil. My neighbor had a Taurus 92 that was a gem and ran like a swiss watch.
Those old mechanical watches are cool. I have my dads Waltham pocket watch that he carried when he worked for the Southern Pacific RR in the 50's.

My grandmother who was born in TX around 1900 carried a 32 in her purse. She lived with us for awhile in the 50's and she showed it to me. My dad never had a problem with her carrying a revolver but my mom hated it. My grandmother also dipped snuff. She sent me to the corner grocery to buy it with some left to buy candy. I remember the guy who owned the store always ask me if I was using it. When I told him I wasn't he always had a great laugh. I was about 8 years old.
