    This bullet

Loaded to +P velocities did pretty well for me in gel. Any chance of working with someone to make a coated version?

Then in 44 SPL (essentially Skeeter's load with Unique powder) this bullet also did well. It would probably be a nice carry load in something like a Smith mountain gun.

If it was a simple as asking someone to coat a couple thousand and buy them, that would be one thing, but it is not.

I'll give you an extremely condensed version of a long story. I recently was talking with a manufacturer about taking a bullet and poly coating it for me. Short version is they would need to buy new molds and then wanted a minimum of a 50,000 rd commitment initially.

50K bullets is not a small financial commitment and I have no way of knowing if it is going to be a success or not, and some cartridges, certain projectiles are for niche crowds. I will sell 30 of a more common projectile type/caliber, for every 1 specialty round. For a one man/small shop, I have x amount of hours of shop production time, x amount of hours for packaging, x for admin, maintenance, etc. For the part of the day I get to spend producing, I need to make sure it is producing the top sellers.

That is all to say, it would not happen in the future, but right now I am struggling to just keep the current offering in stock.

I'm another one who has pretty much standardized on coated 148 DEWC within the past couple years. They're in the well worn M&P 340 in my pocket as I write this, and it's pretty much my in town setup at present.
