Nice. Is this a second DD rifle for you, or the original one? I’m not experienced with them and don’t have enough experience to know which model that is.

Yeah, rifles to me are increasingly in either the "Widespread Civil Unrest 8" .300 blackout / 11.5" 5.56 SBRs" or "historical/milsurp novelty" categories. The "practical" in-between is disappearing at a rapid pace.

Sounds like the good old versatile shotgun with birdshot for drones, Buckshot for dipshits and slugs for dipshits 100 yards away is the way forward in drone world.

I was shooting a Ruger Precision in 6.5 yesterday with a nice vortex scope that was perfectly dialed in with precision handloads... couldn't hit the steel at 300 yards, embarrassingly (gave up after 3 shots). My trigger control wasn't great, first time shooting a 6.5 and first time in many years shooting a scoped bolt gun.

Then I pulled out my 1943-made Springfield M1 Garand and was smacking the steel over and over using iron sights every time with M2 ball.

Always between two major rivers that begin with the letter "M."

I have only owned two DDs; one is still in the family.

The M4V7SLW is a dandy turn-key carbine. I kind of wish I had gone the 14.5 barrel with a pinned FH route on my last AR.

JMO ... the M4V7SLW is the sweet spot of the 3 of them.
