If we have to march off into the next world, let us walk there on the bodies of our enemies.
It was a long time ago but I lived on 95 in Hawthorne, NV (actually Babbitt) and ran up and down 95 a bunch between Tonopah and Fallon. We'd hit 50 in Fallon on the way to Reno.
It was long enough ago that my experiences aren't relevant, but, out of curiosity, which little communities are you talking about?
Adding nothing to the conversation since 2015....
It was a long time ago for me also.
We lived in Gardnerville and would pick up 95 ALT in Yerington on the way to Vegas.
IIRC, just outside of Hawthorne was a black and white sedan on the side of the road mocked up to be a cop car, complete with a mannequin in the driver's seat.
Seemed like the speed limit went from 70mph immediately to 25mph as soon as each of those little town were approached.
We also traveled around and competed in a monthly man-vs-man steel circuit in Yerington, Hawthorne, Winnemucca, and Lovelock.
We'd shoot IPSC in Carson City, Reno (maybe it was Sparks?), and some informal tactical matches near Topaz Lake.
Good times!
Is the boy you were proud of the man you are?
